Print, sign, and return forms by mail or email unless noted. Changes are processed after we receive the signed form.
IRS Form W-9
Required so we can report your payments correctly and avoid backup withholding. Complete it for the name and tax ID that should receive payment.

Update your mailing address, phone, or email. A change of name or ownership requires recorded documents (see below).

Have payments deposited to your bank. Because it contains bank details, please return this form by mail until our online owner portal is live. Never send it by email.

We update ownership only after we receive documents showing the change. In most cases those documents must be recorded in the county where the property is located. Every situation is different, so contact us before sending originals.
After an owner passes away
- A copy of the death certificate.
- If the estate was probated: a copy of the will and the letters testamentary or letters of administration, and any recorded deed from the estate.
- If the estate was not probated: a recorded affidavit of heirship, signed before a notary by someone who knew the family but does not inherit. We can send a sample on request.
- A W-9 from each new owner.
Moving an interest into a trust
- A recorded deed or conveyance from you to the trust.
- A certificate or memorandum of trust naming the current trustee(s).
- A W-9 for the trust.
Selling or gifting an interest
- A copy of the recorded deed or assignment to the new owner.
- A W-9 and mailing address for the new owner.
Changing your name (marriage, divorce, company name)
- A copy of the marriage certificate, divorce decree, or amended company filing.
- An updated W-9 in the new name.

Frequently asked questions
How do I update my address?
Download and return the Change of Address form above. We cannot change an address based on a phone call alone.
My decimal interest looks wrong. What should I do?
Email us your owner number, the well or lease name, and the reason you believe the decimal is incorrect, with any supporting documents. We will review it and respond.
